2015 Screening of Groundswell Rising with Environmental Panel, Great Barrington, Mass.

Bard College at Simon’s Rock in Great Barrington will be screening Groundswell Rising, the new documentary by Emmy Award-winning Resolution Pictures. This film highlights the collaboration of communities across the United States as they stand against fracking. The show will take place with a distinguished panel of local activists, at Bard College at Simon’s Rock on April 25th at 2 p.m.

Please join us for a film that is both heartbreaking and inspiring: the age-old story of David and Goliath, the story of small communities banning together to face the oil and gas companies. This is not a story about victims, but of leaders and activists whose livelihoods are on the line.

The panelists are Jane Winn, Executive Director of the Berkshire Environmental Action Team (B.E.A.T); Polly Ryan of the Plainfield Pipeline Committee; Rachel Branch, Producer of Solutions Rising Television Show; and William Jackson, local activist, concerned private citizen.

Panelists will provide information on their work, and what citizens can do to oppose fracking, followed by a Q&A. This is an excellent time to discuss the Kinder-Morgan Northeast Energy Direct Pipeline (NED), and what we as residents of Massachusetts and citizens of the United States can do protect our state, and country, from this expansion.

Admission is FREE. For more information: http://www.thebeatnews.org/BeatTeam/calendar-events/#groundswell
